Asin Thottumkal is an award-winning Malayali beauty hails from the state of Kerala, God's own country. Currently , Asin is considered as one of the most popular actresses in the South Indian film industry with three prestigious southern Filmfare Awards in her kitty. Asin, 'the girl without sin' who has taken over Bollywood by storm with her very natural acting and effortless style. The dusky beauty has come a long way.

Asin was born on 26th October 1985 in Kochi, Kerala. Her parents are Joseph and Seline Thottumkal. Her father is a businessman and her mother is a surgeon. Asin did her schooling from the Naval Public School and then she went to St. Theresa's School and College. She is an Arts graduate. She holds the bachelors degree in English Literature. Asin can speak multiple languages like Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, French,Sanskrit , English and Marathi as well.

Asin made her acting debut with a Malayalam film 'Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka' in 2001. She essayed a supporting role in the movie. Her next was 'Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi' in 2002. It was her first Telugu film which she essayed a role of a Tamil girl. She was next seen in 'Shivamani', Gharsana' and 'Lakshmi Narasimha' which were box office hit films. Asin's debut Tamil film was 'Son Of Mahalakshmi' by M. Kumaran. She repraised her role from 'Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi' by essaying a role of a Malayalee girl instead of Tamil girl. The movie was a blockbuster hit. Her next ventures were 'Chakram' and 'Ullam Ketkumae' in 2002 which also were box office successes.

The charismatic girl then was seen in a series of hit films like 'Majaa' ,'Ghajini' ,'Sivakasi' ,'Aalwar' ,'Annavaram' ,' Vel', 'Varalaru' and 'Pokkiri'. Out of these 'Ghajini' was a major box office success. In 2008, she was seen in 'Dasavathaaram ' with Kamal Haasan . The film was also a blockbuster hit. Asin has received many awards like Filmfare Best Telugu Actress Award, IIFA Star Debut Award, Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award, Filmfare Best Actress Award and ITFA Best Actress Award for her outstanding and entertaining performances in her films.

Asin then stepped into the Bollywood in a Hindi remake of 'Ghajini ' with Aamir Khan. The film proved a major success at the box office and it helped her in establishing herself in the Bollywood. Her next venture was 'London Dreams' with Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan The film could not do well at the box office. In 2011, the girl next door Asin was again paired with Salman Khan in a rom-com 'Ready'. The film was one of the biggest successes of that year. Asin was next featured in Sajid Khan's comic caper 'Housefull 2' along with Akshay Kumar. The movie got mixed reviews but the movie proved to be a blockbuster hit. Her next venture was 'Bol Bachchan' with Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan . The film got mixed reviews from the critics but they praised Ajay and Asin's performances. The talented beauty was last seen along with Akshay Kumar in 'Khiladi 786'. The movie was a hit but received mixed reviews from the critics.

The south beauty is a part of many humanitarian projects and provides the support to orphan kids for their education. The chirpy lass was a judge of the beauty pageant Femina Miss India 2009 and 2013. Asin will be next seen in 'Aise Ko Taisa', 'Aap Ka Saaya' and a Tamil film named 'Vaaliban'.
