Bobby Deol Biography

He is one of the handsome hunks of Bollywood, an action hero and also a lover boy. Bobby Deol is one of the Bollywood icons of the 90s and is still carrying on. Born on 27th January 1967, he is the youngest son of Bollywood's famous yesteryear star Dharmendra and the brother of the Browny Sunny Deol. He has two sisters and also two half sisters one of which is Esha Deol. He is wedded to Tanya Ahuja and the couple has two kids .

Though he first entered acting, as a child artist in 'Dharam Veer' in the year 1977, his first acting debut as a lead came with 'Barsaat' in 1995. His first film won him the Filmfare Best Debut Award. However, his real breakthrough came in 1996 with the thriller 'Gupt', which won a great praise from audiences. Next came 'Aur Pyar Ho Gaya' where he starred opposite to Aishwarya Rai. However, his most appreciated and well received action movie 'Soldier', came in 1998, which was a refreshment in terms of action and music in Bollywood . He also worked in a film directed by his elder brother Sunny Deol in 1999, named 'Dillagi'.

With the 2000s his career entered a new phase with the film 'Badal' where he played the role of an angry youth, pitted for revenge against a highly corrupt policeman. Also in the same year, he was seen in 'Bichhoo (2000)' and 'Hum To Mohabbat Karega'. In 2001, he acted in the murder thriller 'Ajnabee'. In 2002 he worked in a patriotic film based on 'Bhagat Singh', named '23rd March 1931: Shaheed'. In the same year, his role in the romantic thriller film 'Humraaz' earned him the Filmfare's Best Actor Award. All through the years 2004 to 2006, he acted in films like 'Kismat', 'Bardaasht', 'Jurm' and 'Tango Charlie', 'Dosti', 'Alag' and 'Humko Tumse Pyaar Hai'.

Between 2007 and 2009, he acted in films such as 'Shakalaka Boom Boom', 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom', 'Apne', 'Chamku' 'Dostana' and 'Ek The Power Of One'. In the year 2010 he was seen in the horror film 'Help', where he starred opposite to actress Mugdha Godse. Then came 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' in 2011, which was well received nationwide. He also starred in the comedy 'Thank You' where he starred opposite to Sonam Kapoor. His latest film was 'Players' (2012) which was a remake of the Hollywood film 'An Italian Job'.

His upcoming film is the sequel 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2'.
