Gracy Singh Biography

Gracy Singh is an Indian actress born on July 20th, 1980 in New Delhi. She is a classically trained dancer specializing Bharatanatyam and Odissi dance forms. She started her career with a dance troupe called "The Planets", where Sanjiv Bhattacharya found her and decided to cast her ZEE TV's popular serial 'Amanat'.

Gracy debuted in Bollywood with the film 'Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain' by playing a supporting role of Kajol's younger sister and next she acted in Gulzar's film 'Hu Tu Tu'. Her journey from supporting to lead role in the Oscar nominated film 'Lagaan' was remarkable. She gained famed as a village girl Gauri, while romancing Aamir Khan in this film. Next she was offered Sapna's character in 'Qayamat' (2003), which she rejected because her role demanded her to wear revealing clothes. Her next popular films were 'Gangaajal' and 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S' opposite Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt respectively. Later she was casted in number of Hindi films like 'Muskaan', 'Deshdrohi' and 'Dekh Bhai Dekh' but they all went flat at the box-office.

Gracy holds the record of working in regional films of Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi. She has won IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year - Female in the year 2002 for her debut in 'Lagaan'.
