Imran Khan Biography

A guy with a chocolate boy charm and attitude who makes all the ladies go crazy over him is none other than the heartthrob of young girls, Imran Khan. He was born as Imran Pal to a Bengali Hindu Anil Pal who is a software engineer and Nuzhat Khan, who is a psychologist. He was born on 13th January 1983 in Madison, Wisconsin in United States. The handsome hunk is the nephew of famous actor Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan. Imran and his mother shifted to Mumbai when his parents got a divorce.

Imran studied at the prestigious Bombay Scottish School. But he developed a bad stammer there due to corporal punishments like caning. Imran describes this phase of his life as difficult as his grades fell and his academic career went down as he could not cope up with the environment. He became nervous and developed facial tics. Later his parents sent him to Blue Mountain School in Coonoor. He also went to a Gurukul in Ooty.

He later shifted with his father to Sunnyvale in California. There, he attended Fremont High School. When he graduated, he wanted to become a film director. So he went to Los Angeles and pursued a degree in Filmmaking from New York Film Academy. After finishing his degree, he tried his hand at market research and advertising. Eventually, he returned to Mumbai and got trained at Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting institute for acting.

Imran stepped into the acting field at a very young age. He appeared as a child artist in his uncle Aamir Khan's movies 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak' in 1988 and 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar' in 1992. Both times he played the role of childhood Aamir Khan.

Imran Khan started his career in Bollywood as a lead actor with the film 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' . The film was directed by Abbas Tyrewala. It was produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan. The film had Genelia D'Souza as a female lead. The film was a hit and received rave reviews from one and all. It was the biggest hit of 2008.

Imran's next was 'Kidnap' in 2008 starring Minissha Lamba and Sanjay Dutt. Imran essayed an antagonist in this movie. The movie could not do well at the box office. His next was 'Luck' in 2009 starring Sanjay Dutt and Shruti Haasan.

Imran's next movie was 'I Hate Luv Storys' by Karan Johar directed by Punit Malhotra. The movie featured Sonam Kapoor as a female lead. He also appeared in 'Break Ke Baad' with Deepika Padukone in 2010. The movie was directed by Danish Aslam. Imran was again featured in Aamir Khan Productions' 'Delhi Belly' directed by Abhinay Deo. The movie was loved by young generation and the offbeat music received rave reviews. The movie was a black comedy.

He later starred in Ali Abbas Zafar's romcom 'Mere Brother ki Dulhan' in 2011 along with Katrina Kaif and Ali Zafar. Imran's performance was praised by critics and audiences. In 2012, he along with Kareena Kapoor starred in 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'. It was again a romcom. The film and Imran's performance got positive reviews from everybody.

In the 2013, Imran was seen in a political satire 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'. The story sets in a rustic background of a village in Haryana. The movie featured Anushka Sharma, Shabana Azmi and Pankaj Kapoor. The movie received mixed reviews. The box office report of the movie was average.

Imran was next making a special appearance in the film 'Bombay Talkies'. He will be seen in Milan Luthria's 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Again', 'Gori Tere Pyar Mein' and 'Milan Talkies'.

Imran has received the Filmfare award for best male debut for 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na'. He has received many nominations and awards for his performance in his films like 'Luck', 'I Hate Luv Storys' , 'Delhi Belly' ,'Mere Brother ki Dulhan' and 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu'.
