Kabir Khan Biography

Kabir Khan is a famous Indian film director, camera operator of documentary and screenwriter. He is famous for his record breaking blockbuster film 'Ek Tha Tiger'. He is known for his excellent cinematographic skills. He has a background of making the documentaries. The director studied at Kirori Mal College in New Delhi. He was the part of the documentary 'Beyond The Himalayas' which was aired on the discovery channel in 1995. It was directed by the famous Gautam Ghosh. Then he directed another documentary 'The Forgotten Army' in 1999 which also became very popular. The documentary was based on Netaji Subhashchandra Bose and his Azad Hind Fauj. In the year 2001, he again directed brilliant documentaries ,'The Titanic Sinks in Kabul' and 'Taliban years and Beyond'.

Then he debuted in the mainstream Indian cinema by making the film 'Kabul Express' in the year 2006. The movie was average at the box office but Kabir's performance was noticed. In the year 2009, he made 'New York' with Katrina Kaif , Neil Nitin Mukesh and John Abraham. The movie was in the backdrop of 9/11 attacks in the USA and Islam and terrorism. The movie was a hit at the box office. In the year 2012, Kabir directed the movie 'Ek Tha Tiger' with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The movie was a blockbuster at the box office and was recorded as the second highest grossing film in the Bollywood history.

The director is married to the television anchor Mini Mathur and the couple has a son named Vivaan and a daughter named as Sanya.
