Lara Dutta Bhupathi is Bollywood's very own Brooke Shields, an enchanting and hypnotizing beauty that will make your heart skip a beat and leave you stunned. Born on 16th April 1978 with a mixed Punjabi and Anglo-Indian parentage, she has two sisters, of which one serves for the Indian Air Force. Later, Lara and her family shifted to Bangalore in the year 1981 where she finished her studies in the St. Francis Xavier Girls' High School as well as the Frank Anthony Public School. She is a graduate in economics from the University Of Mumbai and is a multilingual personality, who can speak English, Punjabi, Hindi, Kannada and French. Also she is married to Mahesh Bhupathi, popular Indian tennis player.

Her career began, not with acting, but with modeling, where she won the Gladrags Megamodel in the year 1995, thus enabling her to enter the 1997 Miss Intercontinental Pageant, where she won the first position. Her biggest achievement here was her winning the Femina Miss India Universe in the year 2000. She also won the highest score in the swimsuit competition at the Miss Universe 2000 in Cyprus.

Her first break in Bollywood came with 'Andaaz' in 2003, where she starred along with Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra. She won the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for her performance in the film. She also starred in 'Bardaasht', 'Aan', 'Insan', 'Elaan', 'Jurm' and 'Masti'. In 2005 she was seen in the season 2 of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati'. She also acted in 'Kaal' (2005) and 'No Entry' (2005), which were moderately successful. In 2006 she was seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer 'Bhagam Bhag', which was a massive hit. During the following year, she was seen in 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom' and 'Partner'. She lent her voice for the animated film 'Jumbo' and was also seen making a special appearance in the film 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' (2008). In 2009, she was seen in 'Do Knot Disturb', 'Blue' and 'Housefull'.

Her debut as a producer came with 'Chalo Dilli' in 2011, which was average successful. She got engaged to ace tennis player Mahesh Bhupathi on September 2010. They got married in a civil ceremony on 16th February 2011 and with a Christian ceremony four days later. She gave birth to a baby girl on 20th January 2012.In 2012, she was seen playing the role of Ayesha in 'Don 2'. After taking a post-pregnancy gap, she will be seen in the film 'David', where she plays a pivotal role.
