The film 'Roja' instantly comes into our mind, when we hear the name Madhoo. Madhu Raghunath Malini aka Madhoo was born on 26 March 1972. It is said that actress is named as Madhoo after the late unmatched beauty Madhubala. Madhoo is the niece of Bollywood dream girl Hema Malini. The actress learned Bharatanatyam from her mother, Renuka.

Madhoo made her film debut with a Malayalam flick 'Ottayal Pattalam' with co-star Mukesh. Afterwards, the actress entered in Tamil movies with 'Azhagan' (1991) by K. Balachandra with eminent actors like Bhanupriya, Mammootty and Geeta.

In the world of Hindi movie industry, she stepped in with newcomer action-hero Ajay Devgn. The film was 'Phool Aur Kaante' (1991). This star with Aries sun-sign received overnight publicity after acting in the movie 'Roja' (1992). The film accomplished big success at the box-office and got translated into diverse languages. The charismatic acting performance of the cute actress was much appreciated during that time.

Madhoo starred in multiple Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. The talented beauty got married to Anand Shah, an industrialist on February 19, 1999. They are proud parents of two little angels, Ameyaa and Keia.
