Manoj Tiwari Biography

Manoj Tiwari is an Indian singer, who later on ventured into diverse fields like acting, television show hosting and music directing. Manoj hails from Bihar and he was born on 1st February, 1973. Prior foraying into filmy world, Tiwari was a singer for around ten years. Bhojpuri genre of films was the main domain of Manoj and in 2005, he was considered as one of the leading stars of that genre. Ravi Kishan was the strong contender at that time in Bhojpuri films.

Manoj Tiwari acted in the film 'Sasura Bada Paise Wala' in 2003 and the film turned out to be a super hit gaining huge commercial success at the box office. Also, it was like a turning point in Bhojpuri cinema. Post this, he featured in another hit films like 'Bandhan Toote Na' and 'Daroga Babu I Love You'. Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan were tagged as the biggest male stars taking Bhojpuri cinema market to greater level, as quoted by BBC in 2005. Other than this, the actor starred in some more Bhojpuri flicks like 'Ae Bahuji Ke Sister', 'Kab Aibu Anganwa Hamaar', 'Ganga Jamuna Saraswati', 'Ganga', 'Bhole Shankar', etc. In the year 2010, Tiwari directed an Urdu flick titled 'Hello Darling'.

Tiwari participated in the fourth season of popular television reality show 'Bigg Boss' in 2010. He was even a part of the around the world music concert. In 2009, his album 'Hey Mahadev' presented traditional music along with the contemporary genre. For plenty of music albums, Manoj was a music director. In super hit Bollywood thriller 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' by Anurag Kashyap, Tiwari lent his voice to a song 'Jiya Ho Bihar Ke Lala'. Manoj Tiwari was also involved in politics since year 2009. As a candidate for the Samajwadi Party in Gorakhpur constituency, he contested elections for the 15th Lok Sabha.

Being an avid Cricket lover, Tiwari played Cricket at Banaras Hindu University. For flourishing this sport in his home region, Tiwari also attempted to purchase the franchise for an Indian Premier League team. He was also involved with Kirti Azad's Association of Bihar Cricket. The artist has wish to build a premium Cricket stadium in Kaimur district, which is his home town.

Manoj Tiwari acted as host for some television programs like 'Sur Sangram' (Season 1 and 2), 'Bharat Ki Shaan: Singing Star' (Season 1 and 2), 'Nehle Pe Dehla' and he was also seen as anchor in the show 'Welcome - Baazi Mehmaan-Nawaazi Ki' in 2013.

He was married to Rani Tiwari and the couple filed for divorce in 2012. They are having a daughter.
