Maradona is born and brought up in a Christian family living in Bhayandar, Mumbai. Maradona was first introduced to acting during his school days where he essayed various roles in the school play. The passionate actor decided to enter medicine after his higher secondary, but that never happened. Later Maradona essayed a role in a play called 'An Evening With Shakespeare' enacted at the National Gallery Of Modern Art.

Maradona's entry into the modeling world was just by fluke. He was at a multiplex where a model coordinator spotted him and was eventually taken on board for an assignment. Rebello's luck seems to be strong in a manner to crack opportunities. During his commencement for Graduation in BMM (Bachelors In Mass Media) from St.Xavier's College, Mumbai; Rebello was called in by director Sudipto Chattopadhyaya to audition for his upcoming flick 'Pankh'. Rebello's belief of debut in romance and drama took a pause after knowing what the film is all about and what it demands from him as an actor.

'Pankh' demanded Rebello to deliver nude scene and also share a kiss with a boy. Maradona suggested his parents for the film to which they agreed and soon Maradona was the lead of 'Pankh' which later got released in 2009. The film was based on the subject of child artists who essay roles that are of opposite gender. The film was heavily criticized and received a cold response at the box-office.

Maradona later continued to act in another unconventional release of 2010 'Donno Y... Na Jaane Kyo'. This time he shared the screen-space with veteran divas Helen and Zeenat Aman. Here too the actor took a bold step by acting on a sensitive subject based on homosexuality. He was one of the actors to deliver the first onscreen kiss with a male co-star in Indian cinema. This time for a change the film received mix-reviews as well as had an average business at the ticket window.
