Paresh Rawal is one of the finest actors that Indian Film Industry has. He is known for his comic timing and his sense of understanding a character and getting into the root of one. Paresh has done numerous roles in various genres but got the max acclaim for his comic roles. He is vividly known as Babu Bhaiya, a character he played in 'Hera Pheri', a movie considered as a landmark comedy. Paresh is also a part of many successful plays. Paresh is married to actress Swaroop Sampat and they have two kids Aditya and Anirudh.

Paresh was born to a Gujarati Family on 30th May 1950. Paresh studied at Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Paresh started his filmy career in the year 1984 from the movie 'Holi' in a small role but he grabbed the eye balls in 1986 Block buster movie 'Naam'. He went to feature in over 100 movies in the next few decades. He had quite some success, especially in Negative and supporting roles. He appeared in some Telugu movies of RGV School of direction. He came to the spotlight for his role of a Bank Robber in 'Kshana Kshanam'. He won National Film Award in Best Supporting Actor category for his roles in 'Woh Chokri' and 'Sir'. For 'Sir' he received a Filmfare award for Best Comedian. Ketan Mehta's 'Sardar' saw him playing the role of Sardar VallabhbhaI Patel for which he got international acclaim. In movie 'Tamanna' (1996) he essayed brilliantly, a role of a third gendered person. He played a comic role in 'Judaai'. He played some Negative roles in movies like 'King Uncle', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Daud', 'Baazi' etc. In the year 2000, Rawal rocked the big screen and tickled the funny bones of the audiences with his impeccable comic portray of a Maharashtrian Landlord 'Baburao Ganpatrao Apte' in the movie 'Hera Pheri' which then achieved a cult status. He stole the show instead of the film having two leading actors like Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. He gained a Filmfare Best comedian award for the same. This proved a turning point in Rawal's Career after which he became the common face of various commercial comedy movies like 'Awara Paagal deewana', 'Garam Masala', 'Deewane Huye Paagal', 'Malamaal weekly', 'Golmaal', 'Hulchul', 'Chup Chup Ke', 'Bhagam Bhag', 'Bhool bhulaiyaa', 'Welcome', 'Mere baap Pehle Aap', 'De Dana Dan', and the latest success 'Oh My God!'. Paresh has also produced some TV soaps like 'Bahuraaniyaan',' Main Aisi Kyu Hoon' and 'Laagi Tujhse Lagan'. Paresh will next be entertaining the audience in multi-starrer 'Zila Ghaziabad', Sajid Khan's 'Himmatwala', Amrit Sagar's 'Rabba Main Kya Karoon' and 'Tum Mere ho'.
