Puri Jagannadh Biography

Puri Jagannadh is a well known screenwriter, director, producer who mainly works in Telugu cinema. The talented director has got the prestigious Nandi award for three times. He has made many superhit Telugu films like 'Badri' ,'Idiot' ,'Desamuduru', 'Pokiri' etc. The director was born on 1st September 1966 in Kothapalli, Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. He originates from a middle class Telugu family. He began his career by working as an assistant director with veteran director Ram Gopal Varma for many Telugu films. His independent Telugu directorial named 'Badri' was a blockbuster flick. He was a mentor to Telugu actor Ravi Teja. He gave him a chance to work in many Telugu hit films.

Puri Jagannadh made his directorial debut in the Bollywood with the film 'Shart - The Challenge' in the year 2004. In the year 2011, he directed 'Bbuddah- Hoga Terra Baap' with Amitabh Bachchan. The film got a good response and was invited in the collections of the prestigious Oscar library.

The film 'Shart - The Challenge' was Hindi remake of Telugu blockbuster 'Badri' and super hit film 'Wanted' starring Salman Khan was a remake of superhit Telugu film 'Pokiri' by Puri Jagannadh.

Currently he is busy with his Telugu projects.
