Sagar Ballary Biography

Sagar Ballary is one of the successfully emerged directors of Bollywood. His most notable movies are 'Bheja Fry' (2007) and 'Bheja Fry 2' (2011).

The 36-year old director was born in India in the year 1975. He has done his graduation in English Literature from Ruia College, Mumbai after which he moved to Kolkata to pursue a diploma in direction and screenplay writing from the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (1997-2001). He scripted as well as directed a 34 minute diploma short film 'Kalu Ravi' which was selected for the national competition at the Mumbai Film Festival 2003.

Ballary returned to Mumbai after completing his diploma in 2002 and assisted Rajat kapoor in 'Raghu Romeo' as a chief assistant director.Then, he began to develop the script of 'Bheja Fry which was earlier to be titled as 'Ding Dong- Baby Sing a Song'.Sagar worked as associate director with Rajat Kapoor for movies like 'Mixed Doubles' and 'Mithya' from 2005-2007.He made his own feature film 'Bheja Fry' in 2007. He was also an executive producer cum director of 'Kaccha Limboo' (2011) released under Sahara One Motion Picture Banner.His next release was 'Bheja Fry 2' (2011) which was again well received. His next movie 'Hum Tum Shabana' did not do well at the box office.Apparently, his next directorial is titled 'Saali Khushi'.
