Saloni Aswani Biography

Saloni Aswani is an established actress who mainly appears in South Indian films. She was born as Vandana in Ulhasnagar , Maharashtra in a Sindhi family on 1st June 1977. Saloni's father was an assistant commissioner of narcotics. Her family shifted to Wadala when she was five. After completing her school education she graduated in Psychology from SNDT College in Mumbai.

Saloni was interested in acting since her childhood. Her mother always supported her but her father wanted her to do some 'respectable job'. But she created her portfolio without her father's knowledge and sent in to modeling agencies. She got selected eventually and did modeling for the brands like Lifebuoy, Vaseline, Moove, Parachute Oil, Three Roses Tea, Chic Shampoo and Meera Soaps. When she was studying in school and college , she participated in dramas.She was a part of a theatre group named Kala Sansad. Saloni learnt acting at Ashok Kumar's Academy of Dramatic Arts run by Preeti Ganguly, his daughter.

Saloni made her acting debut in 2003 with the film 'Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa' by Sawan Kumar Tak who gave her the screen name as Saloni. Her first Telugu film is 'Dhana 51'. She next appeared in 'Oka Oorillo'. Next she appeared in five films and was in a lead role in 'Chukkallo Chandrudu' and 'Kokila'. Her Hindi films are 'Saawan' and 'Rehguzar'. She appeared with Salman Khan is 'Boss, I Love You'. Her debut Tamil film was 'Madurai Veeran' in 2007. She next appeared in 'Budhivanta'. Both these films were blockbuster hits.

Her Kannada debut film was 'Dubai Babu' and next she was featured in a cameo in 'Magadheera'. She also appeared in 'Maryada Ramanna'. After that she has appeared in numerous Telugu, Tamil and Kannada projects. She is currently working on two Telugu projects.
