King Khan aka Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is really rocking the silver screen since two decades. He has a fan following from all age groups. The kind hearted man has struggled very hard in his life to reach at the top. He did lots of hard work to get the firm positions amongst Bollywood's top three actors.

Shah Rukh was born on 2nd November 1965 in Delhi into a Muslim family. His father's name was Taj Mohammad Pathan who was an Indian independence activist and his mother was Lateef Fatima. His father lost the fight with cancer and died when Shah Rukh was just 15 years old. His mother passed away in 1990 due to prolonged illness. Shah Rukh has one sister who is elder to him named as Shehnaz. Shah Rukh went to St. Columba School in Delhi. He was a champion in sports, drama and academics too. He was awarded the Sword of Honor for his all rounder performance in every field by his school. Shah Rukh then went to Hansraj College and got the degree in economics. Then he took his masters degree in Mass Communication from Jamila Milia Islamia. After completing his education, he went to the National School of Drama in Delhi to learn the acting skills as he wanted to pursue his career in acting. After his mother's death, Shah Rukh shifted to Delhi. He got married to Gauri Chibber, his longtime love and the couple has two lovely children, Aryan and Suhana.

Shah Rukh started his acting career through Television. He appeared on the screen for the first time as Commando Abhimanyu Rai in the TV serial Fauji in 1988. Then he played a small role in another TV serial named Circus. He made his debut in Bollywood through the film 'Deewana' in 1992. The movie was a super hit and Shah Rukh's performance was appreciated by the critics and viewers. He suddenly became a heartthrob of the young generation. He also received the Filmfare's award for the best male debut for 'Deewana'. Then Shah Rukh was seen playing a negative character in his next films 'Darr' and 'Baazigar'. Both these movies were a hit at the box office and Shah Rukh got lots of accolades for playing the obsessive lover in these films. He again played an antagonist in the film 'Anjaam' opposite Madhuri Dixit. Later Shah Rukh was seen in the films like 'Chamatkaar','Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman','Maya Memsaab','Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' ,'Karan Arjun' 'Guddu' etc . Shah Rukh's biggest success till date is his next 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge' opposite Kajol in the year 1995. The movie is considered as an all time hit and is still running in Mumbai theatres after 16 years of its release. He later did films like 'Dil Se', 'Hey! Ram' , 'Koyla' ,'Yes Boss' , 'Pardes' ,'Duplicate' etc. In these films, Shah Rukh played a lead and his performance was loved by the viewers as well as critics.

Shah Rukh shares a very close bond with Yash Chopra and Karan Johar. He did blockbusters with these two gentlemen. He was seen romancing in 'Dil To Pagal Hai', 'Mohabbatein' ,'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' ,'Kal Ho Naa Ho', 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham' , 'Veer-Zaara' ,' 'Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' etc. People loved the pair of Shah Rukh and Kajol in some of these films. He appeared as a Don in Farhan Akhtar's 'Don - The Chase Begins Again' which is a remake of yesteryears blockbuster 'Don'. The film was a blockbuster too. His outstanding performance was appreciated in the films like 'Swades' and 'Paheli'. 'Paheli' was India's official entry to the Academy Awards.

In the year 2007, we saw Shah Rukh in a totally new Avatar in the film 'Chak De India' . The film was extremely successful at the box office and it also got lots of critical acclaim. Next he was seen in Farah Khan's 'Om Shanti Om' . The film was the highest grossing film of that year. He appeared next in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' with newbie Anushka Sharma. That film was a major box office hit.

In the year 2010, he was seen in 'My Name Is Khan' again with Kajol. The film got a huge success at the box office and Shah Rukh's role of an autistic guy was well appreciated by the critics. In the year 1999, Shah Rukh set up his own production house with his very good friend actress Juhi Chawla and Aziz Mirza named Dreamz Unlimited. The production house produced films as 'Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani', 'Asoka', 'Chalte Chalte'. Out of which only 'Chalte Chalte' was a success. In the year 2004, he set up another company named as Red Chillies Entertainment and produced films like 'Main Hoon Na' , 'Om Shanti Om' , 'Paheli' and 'Billu Barber'.

He was seen in 'Ra.1' and 'Don 2' - the chase continues.Both the films were a success at the box office. He recently appeared in Yash Chopra's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The film got mixed reviews from the viewers and critics as well. The 47 year old actor has got the Padma Shri award from the government of India for his contribution in the films. He is the receiver of total 8 Filmfare awards for the best actor and one award for his negative role. The handsome hunk has his life size statue installed at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London. Over the years, Shah Rukh has appeared in numerous films and did cameos and dance sequences in many films. He is also the owner of IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders in partnership with Juhi Chawla and her Husband Jai Mehta. He has done the brand endorsements as well for many big brands like Nokia, Hyundai, Pepsi , Airtel, Dish TV and many more. He has also hosted TV shows and appears in many award events doing acts and dance performances. He does lots of charity work and is involved in many humanitarian causes but he does not believe in its publicity because of his religious beliefs.

The talented actor will be next seen in 'Chennai Express', 'Happy New Year' and 'Don 3'.
