Shahid Kapoor Biography

This chocolate boy of B-town had stolen everyone's hearts with the charismatic personality. Shahid Kapoor possesses a boyish charm, which is enough to captivate anyone. He is amongst the best dancers of Bollywood. Shahid was born to actor Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azim on 25th February,1981 at Delhi. He was just three years old, when his parents divorced. After that, he stayed with his mother in Delhi, but shares cordial relationship with his father and stepmother, Supriya Pathak. He completed his schooling in Delhi. Even after born as a 'Star-kid' he struggled a lot to reach out to the niche of making it big in Bollywood. Shahid wrote his own destiny out of his sheer hardwork and sincerity.

Shahid started his career with ads and music video. He was just 18 years old when he featured in Pepsi television commercial alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. He was later seen in Aryans music video, 'Aankho Mein Tera Hi Chehra', opposite Hrishitaa Bhatt. He then decided to join Shaimak Davar Institute Of Performing Arts to hone his dancing skills. Through which, he got the opportunity to work as a background dancer alongside Karisma Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai in the songs from the films 'Dil To Pagal Hai' and 'Taal'.

Shahid debuted in Bollywood as a full-fledged actor in the year 2003, with Ken Ghosh's 'Ishq Vishk', opposite Amrita Rao and Shehnaz Treasurywala. For this, he got his first award 'Filmfare Best Male Debut Award'. In 2004, he was casted in the film 'Fida', which flooded at box-office. Then in 'Dil Maange More', which did moderate business at the box-office.

In 2005, his performance in 'Shikhar' earned him Star Screen Award for Best Actor nomination. Later, he went on doing films like '36 China Town' and 'Chup Chup Ke', which got luke response at the box-office. In 2006, Sooraj Barjatya's 'Vivah' brought him his first commercial success at box-office. In 2007, his film 'Fool N Final' went flop. While, he won huge appreciations for Imtiaz Ali's, 'Jab We Met', where the people acknowledged his acting skills. In 2008, 'Kismat Konnection' opposite Vidya Balan failed at box-office. In 2009, the actor portrayed dual characters of Charlie and Guddu in 'Kaminey' alongside Priyanka Chopra. He readily proved his versatility by imaging dark roles. Later, he was seen opposite Rani Mukherjee in 'Dil Bole Hadippa!'. The young lad was the lead face in number of films, such as 'Chance Pe Dance', 'Paathshala', 'Badmaash Company', 'Milenge Milenge', 'Mausam'(2010), 'Teri Meri Kahaani', etc.

Shahid's upcoming films include, 'Phata Poster Nikhla Hero' opposite Ileana D'cruz and 'Rambo Rajkumar' alongside Sonakshi Sinha. Kapoor has also signed Bejoy Nambiar's next untitled film.

With the up-down career graph Shahid Kapoor has profoundly proved himself that he has just not got the good looks and dancing skills, but also acquired exceptional acting skills. He also had three years long relationship with Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor, which ended in the year 2007.
