Shirish Kunder Biography

Shirish Kunder is a well known editor and director in the Hindi cine industry. He was born on 24th May 1973 in Mangalore, Karnataka. He took a degree in electronics and communications engineering from SDM College of Engineering and Technology in Dharwad. He used to work for Motorola previously. Shirish then made his debut in the Bollywood as an editor. His first edited movie is 'Champion' in the year 2000. But the real fame touched him when he edited Farah Khan's movie 'Main Hoon Na' in 2004 starring Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen.

Shirish then shifted to directing the films. His first directorial was 'Jaan-E-Mann' in 2006 starring Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta. The story of the movie was written by him and he composed and edited the background score of the film as well. The film got positive reviews from the critics but it could not work at the box office. Then he made 'Tees Maar Khan' directed by his wife Farah Khan. The film did not get good reviews from the critics but the audience liked the movie. It was declared as a semi hit. Shirish's next directorial venture was 'Joker' in 2012 starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. The movie was a flop and was declared as a disaster. Till date, Shirish has edited more than 15 films and has written 3 films. Some of the films which he edited are 'Aankhen', 'Calcutta Mail','Socha na Tha', 'Main Hoon Na','Waqt', 'Om Shanti Om' etc.

Shirish is married to choreographer director Farah Khan and they have triplets Czar, a boy and Diva, Anvya , girls.
