Personal Life & Career

Sudha Chandran, is an Indian actress, who was born in 1964. She is a dancer who lost her leg in an accident in 1982.

In 1984, based on her life and how she overcame the loss of a leg, the Telugu film Mayuri was released. She starred in the film. It won the Special Jury Award at the National Film Award ceremony. The same film, retaining her in the lead, was released in Hindi as Naache Mayuri (1986).

Since then, Sudha Chandran has become a familiar face on television, working often with Ekta Kapoor. Her role in Kaahin Kissii Roz as Ramola Sikand saw her as a vicious mother in law, draped in flashy sarees and elaborate bindis.

After this, she was seen as Gayatri Kaul in K Street Pali Hill and in Kuch Iss Tara. Sony TV's Jhalak Dikhla Jaa beside saw an appearance by Chandran. Her performance in a negative role Tumhari Disha won her the Best Actress in a Negative Role Award at the Indian Television Academy Awards in 2005.

Sudha Chandran has played various parts in films like Anjaam (1994), Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hai (1999) and Malamaal Weekly (2006).
