This seasoned Bollywood actress is famous for leaving an unforgettable impression on the viewers' mind with whatever role she does in the films. Supriya was born on January 7, 1961 in Mumbai. She is the daughter of the yesteryear actress Dina Pathak, who was well-known for her mother and grandmother roles in the films. Supriya was brought up in a traditional Gujarati family. Supriya's sister Ratna Pathak is also one of the eminent actresses and is married to the ace Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah.

Supriya is one of the most influential actresses in the industry. Supriya Pathak was mainly a theatre actress and she debuted in Bollywood in the year 1981 with the film 'Kalyug'. For her impeccable performance in this film, Supriya won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. 'Bazaar' was her next film in 1982, for which she again bagged Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. The year 1988 saw Supriya featuring in a French venture titled 'The Bengali Night' alongside Hugh Grant and in the film 'Shahenshah'. In the year 1986, Supriya tied the knot with the actor-director Pankaj Kapur and took a short break from the acting after her marriage.

In 2002, Supriya Pathak garnered popularity through a comedy television serial, "Khichdi", in which she rendered the role of Hansa Parekh. The actress showcased her talent by illustrating her impeccable comic timing and ticking the funny bone of the audience. In the television series aired on Sony TV, 'Chhanchhan', Supriya appeared as "Umaben Borisagar" with the villainous shades.
