Tigmanshu Dhulia Biography

Veteran Director Tigmanshu Dhulia is a popular Hindi film director, screenwriter, actor and casting director. He was born on 3rd July 1967 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He went to St. Joseph's Convent and then Anglo Bengali Intermidiate College. He then did his higher studies in Allahabad University where he took a degree in English, Modern History and Economics. After completing graduation, he took a masters degree in Theatre from the National School of Drama in New Delhi.

After finishing studies he shifted to Mumbai and debuted in the film industry as a casting director for the film 'Bandit Queen'. Then he worked for the films like 'Stiff Upper Lips' and 'The Warrior'. His first directorial venture was 'Haasil' in 2003. The film got rave reviews from the critics as well as audiences. It got nominations in many prestigious awards.

Tigmanshu's second film was 'Charas'. Then he directed 'Shagird' and 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster' in 2011. Dhulia came up with the film 'Paan Singh Tomar' in 2012. The film was well received by the critics and it got a wide acclaim from the audience as well. In the decade of 90s , Dhulia has directed many television shows too. He worked as a writer for many films like 'Dil Se' and 'Family'.

He was recently seen as an actor in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and its sequel 'Gangs of Wasseypur 2'. Currently he is busy with the projects like 'Saheb Biwi aur Gangster Returns','Bullet Raja' , 'Milan Talkies' and 'Jai Ramji'.
