3 IDIOTS is Aamir's next amazing film after the block buster GHAJINI. It is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel 'Five Point Someone' and since 2004 its 10 lakh copies are sold in India. And for your information I want to tell you that the producer of the film Vidhu Vinod Chopra has spent almost 50 crores in making the film. And it was worth investing so much money on this film as this film is excellent. Its director Rajkumar Hirani has done mind blowing direction. In fact this film is Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra's third film together, after remarkable films like MUNNABHAI MBBS and LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI.

Rajkumar Hirani's film '3 IDIOTS' attempts to answer some questions on present education system. The questions are: What does education really mean? Merely answering the questions in examination and securing good grades is called education? Are those who toil day and night and follow the study curriculum mechanically the ideal pupils? Does the entire burden of education leave any room for original thought?

Whenever any examination result is declared we get to read news-reports of students committing suicides because they think that they could not live up to the family's expectations. At the very start this film a student commits suicide which raises a big issue in front of the 3 IDIOTS. They raise a pertinent question: What was it? A suicide or murder?

The story of 3 Idiots is different & interesting. It revolves around 3 College friends Rancho (Aamir Khan), (Farhan Qureshi) Madhvan & (Raju Rastogi) Sharman Joshi. All three friends study in an Engineering College.

It is also a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho college romance with the spirited Pia (Kareena Kapoor), and his clash with an oppressive mentor (Boman Irani).

Rancho (Aamir Khan) keeps questioning things & believes education & approach towards living life should be different. He encourages his friends to look beyond the ordinary and soon earns the wrath of the college director Viru Sahasrabuddhe (Boman Irani).

Rancho's friends & others get surprised because despite his fun and frolic behaviour, he always tops in the class.

Everything goes well till one day when the College celebrates Graduation Day & awards Rancho Student of the year title. Thereafter 3 idiots' story takes turn shockingly. The reason behind it is that after that Rancho mysteriously disappears into oblivion. Everyone get surprised. All keep thinking--Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he leave?

The other 2 idiots are worried about their friend who influenced and inspired them to see life in a different way! Where did he vanish?

Years later after this mysterious incident, Farhan and Raju, finding a common thread, embark on a journey to find their friend.

Where was the 3rd idiot? Why had he disappeared mysteriously is the rest of the story. Thus we see that 3 Idiots is a story of friendship, hope, aspirations and most importantly, the goodness of life.

The film switches from present to flashback mode often but not once does Hirani lose the momentum. The film has been presented very well.

3 Idiots is different because every scene is special and brings with it something that's out of the ordinary.

This film may remind you of some similar scenes of MUNNABHAI MBBS such as scenes of college, classrooms & examinations. The interaction between Boman and Aamir is on the similar lines of Boman and Sanjay Dutt. There is also a Hospital Sequence of Sharman getting paralyzed and Aamir curing him with his miraculous ways which seems quite similar to Carrom Board Sequence in Munna Bhai.

Some scenes are extremely different such as the entire ragging sequence; the camaraderie between Rancho and Pia; Chatur's (the 'brainy' student) hilarious speech; the entire black-and-white depiction of Raju's family; most of the scenes between Rancho and Viru; the sequences that lead to Raju's recovery in the hospital and many more.

However, some scenes could have been treated in another way. The way Hirani treated the poor family of Shaman Joshi and the character of his paralyzed father can't be appreciated. Why did he mercilessly portray the poor character as a comedian and expected the audience to laugh at his helpless situation, can't be reasoned out. Though some audience may laugh at such scenes but the scenes aren't so good to laugh at. Hirani is a brilliant director & I wonder how he could do such blunder!

Anyway, 3 IDIOTS is our story which each one of us can relate to or identify with.

The first half is fast & full entertainment. There are so many funny moments would make your jaws ache.

The interval point would leave you in shocked state. The suspense point at which the interval comes will leave you stunned.

But the mystery is solved soon after the intermission ends and a new journey begins.

Aamir Khan is amazing! His commitment towards the works shows from the unbelievable slim physique he gets into for the role of a college student after the famous body building act of "Ghajini" and comes out as a clear winner. He has justified his role to full extent. In fact he is the life & soul of the film even though he didn't ask for footage what any hero of his standard would have asked! It is greatness! He respects the script more than anything that's why he is so successful.

The script of this film is very good. Dialogues are totally effective & meaningful when it is said --- ("In India, you get a pizza in 30 minutes guaranteed but not an ambulance"). This is really true! You get a pizza in 30 minutes guaranteed but rarely get fire brigade or ambulance within 30 minutes when needed.

Kareena Kapoor is okay in her role.

Sharman Joshi is brilliant, especially in his breakdown scenes. Boman Irani plays a college professor. He is sincere as expected, with his lisp act getting all the right nuances.

Madhavan fits very well in the role of an engineering student.

Mona Singh, Javed Jaffery & Parikshit Shahini are good though Javed Jaffery has hardly anything to do. But it doesn't affect the film even a bit.

The music of '3 Idiots' is composed by Shantanu Moitra and lyrics are by Swanand Kirkire. The lyrics are meaningful but the music is not up to the mark. Only the song 'All Izz Well' & 'Zoobi' sounds a bit pleasant. The songs may not last in your mind for long, but the film would surely last in your memory for ever.

Costumes are by Manish Malhotra and Raghuveer Shetty is good.

The soundtrack, background score and cinematography is top notch.

Overall this film is excellent. The three idiots will surely take you in the world of laughter with their unique approach towards life. There are scenes that'll make you laugh, they'll make you cry and they'll make you think. Through out this film we realize that Life is all about listening to your heart and chasing your dreams. The impact of the film is so overwhelming that it leaves you spellbound for hours after it has ended.

If you are a film lover at no cost you should miss this film. It is a must watch film!
