Bharat Bhagya Vidhata Plot

Film's director Osho Raja (he had earlier directed the inconsequential flick The return of the jewel thief) has made an attempt to cash in on the patriotic fervor raging among the movie buffs nowadays, but has failed in his endeavor. The film is based on the threadbare plot of cross-border terrorism and how it effects the life of common people. At the center of the story is the incorruptible character of Home Minister Mahendra Suryavanshi (Shatrughan Sinha). His wife Rukhmani (Jaya Prada) is equally patriotic and works as the principal in a school. The duo together with their loving son Chaitnya (Aditya Vikram) completes the picture of an ideal Indian family. Chaitnya is a carefree lad with no worries in the world. He is head-over-heels in love with Sapna (Rinku Ghosh), a girl who studies in the same class. The story takes an unexpected twist with the entry of a dreaded terrorist Shabeer Khan (Chandrachur Singh). Shabeer highjacks a bus with 40 students (including Chaitnya and Sapna) who were going on a holiday excursion. But with the goose Shabeer also gets a golden egg. That is home minister's dear wife Rukhmani. Shabeer holds the group (and Rukhmani) hostage and in turn demands a hefty ransom. He also demands the release of the arrested militant leader Jalaluddin Gajanabi (Tom Alter). This situation puts the home minister Suryavanshi in strange quandary. Whether he should play tough with Shabeer, not succumb to his demands and at the same time put in jeopardy the life of his beloved wife, his son and other children? Or should he free Jalaluddin who would only spread more terrorism and death in the country? In Shabeer's captivity Rukhmani too shows incredible fortitude in the time of adversity and tries to reason out with him. She discovers that he has picked up gun not out of choice but out of compulsion. She sets about to change Shabeer. On the other hand, the Home minister calls in for the services of the top commando Captain Hamid (Puru Rajkumar) for the rescue mission.
