BOL BACHCHAN was one of the most awaited films of this year which has arrived in the theatres today (and in some other parts of the country such as Gujarat it released at midnight.) This is a Hindi feature film produced by Ajay Devgn & Dhilin Mehta and is directed by Rohit Shetty. This film stars Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan, Asin and Amitabh Bachchan in guest role. This film falls in the genre of comedy. Was it successful in making you laugh? Did Rohit Shetty's film live up to your expectations? Read the review ahead to know about it.

Story & Review : The film begins with the title song 'Bol Bachchan' sung mainly in the voice of Amitabh Bachchan which is pleasant to listen and watch Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Ajay Devgn dancing on that song. The credits move on as the song moves ahead. Thereafter Amitabh Bachchan vanishes after telling the audience that he is not in the film, only his name 'Bachchan' is there. So you don't expect him anymore and wait for the real story.

The film begins with the frustrations of Abbas Ali (Abhishek Bachchan) and his sister Sania (Asin) who are going through financial crisis and they need to win their case to get out of their financial troubles. But despite his lawyer's assurance to win the case, he is defeated which infuriates him so much that he even beats the lawyer outside the court and police take him to custody. Shastri (Asrani) takes him out of bail. Then he tells him that he could take him to Ranakpur where his problems could be solved.

Abbas finds no other option then listening to Shastri.

While going to Ranakpur, Shashtri narrates Abbas & his sister, the character of Prithiviraj(Ajay Devgn) who hated liars to extreme extent and who punished liars severely.

They reach Ranakpur where Abbas meets Ravi-the son of Shastri (Krishna Abhishek) who happens to be Abbas's friend.

Twist comes into the film when they reach on a temple site. Abbas comes to know that this temple remain closed for years due to dispute between two villages. Hence no one dared to open the temple door. Just than a child falls in the pond inside the temple and starts drowning. No one is able to save him as he is inside the closed temple compound. But suddenly Abbas breaks open the lock of the temple and enters inside and by saving the child's life bring him outside the temple. Both the opposite parties come to know it and one party fires bullet on Abbas for opening the lock. But Prithiviraj (Ajay Devgn) saves him and asks his name. He wants to speak his name Abbas but Ravi stops him and tells that his name was Abhishek Bachchan. Abbas gets angry over Ravi for telling his wrong name but Ravi explains that if people would come to know that a Muslim had broken the lock of a door, riot would take place. So in order to control the situation, he lied.

But now Prithiviraj believes that Abbas was Abhishek Bachchan. He also appoints him as his supervisor for Rs.35 thousand monthly salary.

It becomes very difficult for Abbas to hide his true identity every now and then. Ajay Devgn's assistant Neeraj Vora every time keeps suspecting Abhishek's real identity and on his instigation, Ajay Devgn keeps checking his identity which create a lot of fun.

A time comes when Ajay Devgan and Neeraj Vora see him celebrating Eid and hugging his community members. They can't believe it. They rush to Abhishek Bachchan and tell him that that his lie was caught because they had seen him celebrating Eid. But Abhishek manages to tell another lie that the person whom they had seen was not him but his brother Abbas who resembled him exactly. He also conceives a fake story about the birth of Abbas and narrates Ajay Devgn.

Ajay Devgn gets interested in Abbas and wants to meet him.

Now Abhishek Bachchan gets into trouble because he doesn't know how to present Abbas in front of them. So to fool them he goes in front of them as Abbas without moustache and as Abhishek Bachchan with moustache.

How long would he able to make Ajay fool? What would be the result when his lie would be caught? And there are many more questions answered in the remaining part of the film.

Acting : Abhishek Bachchan is brilliant in this film. He has performed his role so well that audience was laughing at his performances. As Abhishek Bachchan he is too good in action scenes as well scenes when he is making others fool. In one scene when he goes to meet Ajay Devgn first time as Abbas, he asks him to show his dancing skills. And when he started dancing people started laughing. He did it very well. Most of the action scenes he did brilliantly (and he should do action films). Ajay Devgn is also good in his role. His role is serious but his situations are comical which make you smile most of the times. He has also performed action scenes very well. Asin had got very less footage. She plays Abhishek's sister and is in double role yet her presence on the screen is very less. She looks very beautiful and has acted very well. Prachi Desai is so and so and does not fit as romantic pair with Abhishek Bachchan.

Amitabh Bachcan just appeared for the title song in the beginning but he did extremely well.

Krishna Abhishek too is very impressive. He has acted very well. Asrani is as usual.

Script : The script written by Yunus Sajawal and Sajid-Farhad is good. Its screenplay could have been better because in the beginning it is a bit slow and at some places it becomes dull. However the dialogue writers have managed to write funny dialogues which make you smile every now and then. Even though this film is said to be the modern version of GOLMAAL of Uttpal Dutt & Amol Palekar, most of its scenes are freash and comical. The writers should be given applause for it, if you forget some loopholes in the screenplay.

Music : There are two music directors in this film who have composed songs such as Himesh Reshammiya and Ajay-Atul. But only the title song 'Bol Bachchan' is impressive and also due to the voice of Amitabh Bachchan. One song sung in the voice of Himesh is average.

Choreography : Choreography in the title song is impressive. So is in one more song.

Cinematography : The DOP of this film is Dudley who has done his job brilliantly. He has filmed the shots very well and his lighting is perfect.

Action : Action is done by Jai Singh. Though it is not an action film, due to Rohit Shetty's expertise in action films many action situations are created which are dealt very well by Jai Singh. In this film you would also see buses and Volvos blowing which you rarely see in any film. In other films usually only cars, jeeps are shown blowing.

Editing : Editing of the film is done by Steven Bernard which is very good!

Costume department has also done its job well by giving good dresses to Asin and Prachi in most of the scenes.

Direction : Rohit Shetty is known to make you laugh or get thrilled by watching his action movies. And in this film he lives up to your expectations. Though there are many loopholes in the screenplay, but if you don't apply brain there, you would totally enjoy the film. Rohit has made Abhishek perform brilliantly. He has also justified the roles of Ajay Devgn and Krishna Abhishek. He has become successful in making you smile and laugh at several places. His takings and shots are great.

Plus Points : Abhishek Bachchan's Comedy, Many Comical Scenes, Its Cleanliness; Every time You Would Hear Amitabh Bachchan's Voice from Behind Which is Very Effective

Minus Points : Music is not up to the mark; Conclusion is not done in satisfactory manner

Conclusion : It is a light comedy film which you can enjoy with your family. When you go to the theatre, do not expect to laugh too much but you can surely expect to smile at several places.

Box Office Predictions : This film contains everything audience want (except hit music and item songs) and should be a super hit.

Verdict : Watch it with your family. You will enjoy!
