BOL is a Pakistani film which released in India on 31st August, 2011 on the eve of Eid and which had released on 24-06-2011 in Pakistan. In general, films in India get released on Friday, but due to the festive season, especially Eid, this film got released on Wednesday.

Story : Zainub (Humaima Malik) has committed a crime and the Pakistani Law pronounces her death sentence. No one knows the real cause of her crime so her well wisher Mustafa (Atif Aslam) gives her advice that before dying she should narrate her story to everyone. Eventually she makes her last wish to narrate her story to public. Her wish is fulfilled and she is allowed to tell her story in front of the media.

She tells them that her family had to migrate from Delhi to Lahore at the time of partition. Her parents were having many daughters and finally her mother had given birth to a child who was hermaphrodite. He father Hakim Sahib (Manzar Sehbai) didn't want him to live (also due to his bad financial condition) and wanted to get rid of that child by killing him at the time of the birth. But her mother does not allow him to do so. They name the child as Saif Ullah who is very talented and learns sketching very soon. His father still hates him.

Zainub plays a different kind of role. On one hand she divorces her husband because her husband wanted a child whereas she didn't due to poor financial condition and on the other hand her mother still goes on becoming pregnant and delivering children due to her father's wish. This irritates her and she takes a very bold step and gets tubal ligation done on her mother. By doing this she prevents her mother from getting pregnant in future. But when her father comes to know about it, he gets furious and shouts at Zainub.

Things take turn and his son Saif Ullah is raped by many people. When his father comes to know this, he kills him to hide his identity but a corrupt police officer comes to know this and he asks huge amount as a bribe to keep the matter secret.

Things keep on changing and in an accident Hakim Sahib gets killed by his daughter Zainub for which she is prosecuted and is given death sentence.

The media, after listening to her story, requests the President to forgive her death sentence but she is finally hanged till death and many lessons and questions remain open for the public.

Performance : All the artists such as Atif Aslam, Humaima Mallick, Iman Ali, Amr Kashmiri, Mahira Khan, etc. have justified their characters and have performed well.

Music : Music is composed as well some songs have been sung by Atif Aslam which is good. Other singers such as Sajjad Ali, Hadiqa Kiani, Ahmed Jahanzeb have sung well.

Direction : This is Shoaib Mansoor's 2nd film in a row which has become super hit. His first film was KHUDA KE LIYE. He has also written and produced this film. The direction of the film is good but what matters the most is the content which is very much liked in Pakistan.

Conclusion : This film had record breaking opening in Pakistan and surpassed even 'My Name Is Khan' which was recorded highest grocer in its first week in Pakistan. But same would be the fate of this film in India is doubtful despite its release on Eid.

Verdict : It has a very complicated story which would be very difficult for you to understand. If you want entertainment on this festive season, go for 'BODYGUARD' and if you want meaningful cinema, go for it!
