Partho Ghosh has directed some famous movies in the past such as 100 DAYS, AGNEE-SAKSHI & DALAL. Though 100 DAYS hadn't done well on the box office, despite being Madhuri Dixit in the film, AGNEE-SAKSHI and DALAL were big hits. After a gap of many years, the director is back with a film EK SECOND JO ZINDGI BADAL DE. This film is inspired by or you can say it is a copy of SLIDING DOORS of Hollywood. I don't know why the director chose to make film on SLIDING DOORS because it wasn't a big hit there.

It is really surprising why the director chose to make films with star cast who have grown old. Jackie Shroff is in the film and is not fit (age wise) in that role. Similarly Manisha Koirala is not fit as heroine due to her age. However, Jackie and Manisha have played their roles very well. But only good performance cannot run any film successfully. It is very important that the artists also match the characters age wise otherwise it looks very odd and audience will not be able to digest it and reject the film.

Partho Ghosh could have cast youngsters instead of Manisha Koirala as heroine and Jackie Shroff. But it seems that after doing AGNEE-SAKSHI together, Partho had a good rapport with Manisha & Jackie and this may be the reason why Partho repeated them in his film.

Well! Apart from the actors, if we talk about the film, it's not good. The story is flat and boring. It neither entertains you nor keeps you hooked. It is the story of Manisha Koirala; how she misses a train; how life changes after she meets Jackie Shroff and Rana. It is also a story of betrayal. The screenplay is not so gripping.

Despite three musicians, songs are not so interesting. Except the title song, you will hardly enjoy listening to other songs repetitively.  However cinematography is good. Even editing is up to the mark.

Performance wise every one is good. Even Nikita Anand has done well. But why was the producer acting in the film? It seems that the director has tried to please his producer Sunil Singh too much by exposing him as an actor. The producer is seen everywhere which is irritating. This is another drawback of the film. Any established actor or struggler could have been given the chance if you are working professionally.

You can go for it only if you don't have anything to do. Otherwise it is better to save your money so that you can spend it on some good films.
