Rating: 2.5/5

I hate LUV stories is a light, romantic and good film. It has been produced by Heeroo Yash Johar, Karan johar and Ronnie Screwwala and had been directed by Punit Malhotra. Its casts are Imraan Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Sameer Dattani, Sameer soni, Aamir Ali, Khshboo Shroff and Pooja Ghai.
Love stories are always liked by Indian audience, especially youngsters if they are made sensibly, even if the themes remain the same. It can be said that in beginning, either hero or heroine does not like something in them and they keep quarrelling but slowly-slowly they fall in love. Many hit films are made on this theme only. Take 'Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin' of Vishesh Films (Mahesh Bhatt's) in which Aamir Khan and Pooja Bhatt played the roles of hero and heroine. In the beginning both just met in the film coincidently and both didn't fall in love at first sight. They kept quarrelling in the whole film. Still they fell in love as the end of the film approached and thus the film was liked by the Indian audience.
'I hate Luv stories' has been produced from the banner of Karan Johar who is master of making love stories. This film has been directed by Punit malhotra, who is the nephew of the great fashion designer Manish Malhotra. It is the first film Punit has directed and has done very well in the first film only. No one can say that this is his first film.
The story of the film goes like this:
Jay Dhingra (Imraan Khan) hates the words love, marriage etc. He hails from Delhi. He shifts to Mumbai glamour world in search of his career and here he joins a film director Veer Kapoor (Sameer Soni) as his assistant in his unit. Veer is known in Mumbai film world to make super hit love stories.  Veer starts to shoot his new film 'Pyar Pyar Pyar'. Simran Sharma (Sonam Kapoor) works there as a set designer. Jay Dhingra has to work with her. On one hand Jay hates love & love stories and on the other hand, love is a very precious thing for Simran. Thus you see that both of them think differently. Simran loves her childhood friend Raj (Sameer Dattani). However, as the film approaches towards end, Jay realizes that he had fallen in love with Simran.
Even though the plot is not new, its treatment is new. It has been presented in nice way. You can notice the impact of Karan Johar and Aditya Chopra in this film because the director seems to be highly inspired by these two great directors.
After 'Jane Tu Ya Jane Na', this can be said to be another good film of Imraan Khan. His earlier films such as 'Kidnap' and 'Luck' didn't do well on the box office. Though Kidnap was a good film and Imraan had done his part with brilliancy, the film lacked some commercial material due to which the film couldn't collect expected revenue. 'Luck' was a rubbish film without any meaning so you could hardly expect any huge revenue from that film. But 'I hate Luv Stories' should do well also on the box office.
Imraan's performance is excellent in this film.
Now lets talk about Sonam Kapoor. Her earlier films like 'Saanwariya' and 'Delhi 6' flopped but this film is expected to be a hit. Her pair with Imraan is going to be liked by all. She too has done her part very well and fits into her role.

Musicians Vishaal Shekhar have done their job well. A few songs are rating very high. The films title song is doing well in the current market.
One special point of this film is that there is spoof of Karan Johar. It is really brave effort of Karan Johar to let the director or inspire the director to make spoof of him in his own production house. Hardly anyone would allow anyone to do that.

As mentioned above, the direction of debutant director Punit Malhotra is good. He has spread a small plot into a big one. He has the art of presenting simple story into a good film.
You should watch this film because it will refresh your mind.
