Rating: 2.5/5

One Line Review : I, Me Aur Main has its moments, but the shallow screenplay is lethargic and inconsistent.

Positive Points : Characters' performances, music, unusual climax

Negative Points: Loose and repeated story, dragged scenes, melodramatic scenes

Plot: The story moves around Ishaan (John Abraham), Anushka (Chitrangada Singh) and Gauri (Prachi Desai). Ishaan is a selfish, overconfident and an immature guy who is over pampered by his mother. The mama's boy loves himself a lot and always thinks that he is the best. Ishaan stays with his girlfriend Anushka who owns the apartment. Anushka tolerates Ishaan's silly childish attitude just because she loves her very much and hopes that Ishaan will change with the course of time. Anushka is a very good friend of Shivani (Mini Mathur) who is Ishaan's elder sister and a lawyer. Shivani knows Ishaan very well and always suggests her mother to stop pampering Ishaan. She also overlooks Ishaan's mistakes and childish attitude. Anushka takes care of Ishaan very well but he always throws 'who cares' attitude and is always in his own world. He is busy with parties with friends and has no goal. He never shares a single penny for the apartment and its maintenance.

One day, this linear and careless attitude of him makes Anushka to throw him out of her apartment. He finds an apartment for him at another place where he meets his neighbor Gauri (Prachi Desai) who is a responsible and ambitious girl. She has a bindass attitude but at the same time she is very mature and inspires John to change himself. One day, this careless and 'I am the best' attitude of Ishaan makes his boss Beena ( Raima Sen) to fire him from the company. This sudden change in the life makes Ishaan go nuts and he is seriously starts thinking about his life and the past. Gauri helps him a lot to find the way and in the process they come close.

Will Ishaan be able to change his attitude towards life?

His involvement with Gauri is serious or will he go back to Anushka to apologize?

What will happen to his relation with Gauri?

For all the answers watch the movie.

Direction And Other Technical Aspects: Newbie director Kapil Sharma seems to have taken a little bit of linear attitude towards making the film. He did not give attention to the screenplay. The story was not new yet the plot was well established. The twists and turns are very predictable and some scenes are dragged unnecessarily. The happy ending seems to be dragged as well. Camera is good but the script gets a bit speckled in the second half. The sudden change in the behavior of the characters like an Ishaan's mother going back to her place and Gauri moves to Paris could not be digested. The story does not have the required depth.

Performances: John Abraham looks great in his six packs and he does his part well. Prachi Desai looks beautiful in her modern outfits and really delivers a splendid performance. Her performance in the film is the best. She carries her spunky look very well. Chitrangada Singh looks sexy and beautiful. As she always gives the marvelous performance. The dusky beauty is a very talented actress and makes you remember late Smita Patil. Her performance is effortless. Zarina Wahab is good as Ishaan's pampering mother. Mini Mathur who is making her acting debut with this film shows her experience of TV hosting with her performance. She fits her role very well. Raima Sen too fits very well in the role of Ishaan's confident boss.

Music: All the tracks are good especially Darbadar and Saajna are well composed by Sachin-Jigar and Falak Shabir respectively. The background score is nice as well.

Final Verdict: If you are a die hard fan of John and want to enjoy the melodious music , you can watch the movie. It has a good social message for today’s young generation.
