LAHORE is a good film directed by the debutante director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. Nafisa Ali, Farookhe Sheikh, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Sushant Singh, Mukesh Rishi, Pramod Muthu, Shraddha Nigam, Nirmal Pandey etc are the casts of the film. As the title suggests, this film revolves around a game kickboxing, which is played in Lahore. The story is like this.

Dheerendra Singh (Sushant Singh) is chosen in the nationwide kickboxing team and under the supervision of trainer Rao (Farouque Shaikh) who represents India at the worldwide kickboxing competition in Kaula Lampur. In his fight with the Pakistani rival Noor (Mukesh Rishi), Singh dies. Younger brother Veerendra Singh (Aanaahad), who is a trained cricketer, switches sport to take revenge of the death of his brother. He makes it to the follow up competition in Lahore in Pakistan where he fights with Noor.

The two countries get together in Lahore for a new kick-boxing competition. This time, Noor Mohammed comes face to face with Virendra Singh [Aanaahad], Dhirendra's brother. Winning the sport is not the only object on his mind. Virendra wants to clear up some old scores and re-establish the vanished delight of the country.

But the story goes down after the interval mainly because you know where it is going. The delicate love affair between Aanaahad and Shraddha Das is finely filmed, but a cricketer [Aanaahad] getting chosen to be a symbol of India for an altogether dissimilar game [kick-boxing] is a bit hard to attract, even though the director has justified the choice by depicting sequences where Aanaahad is shown getting taught in kick-boxing. Yet, regardless of that, it appears like a cinematic freedom.

Farooque Shaikh is excellent. Saurabh Shukla too is good. Sushant Singh has done his part very well. Shraddha Nigam is fine. Mukesh Rishi has acted well and conveys a lot through stillness. Shraddha Das is good as Pakistani. Nafisa Ali is self-possessed. Sabyasachi Chakraborty is also fine. Ashish Vidyarthi is okay. K. Jeeva is good. Kelly Dorji is also fine. Nirmal Pandey gets very less scope, may be due to his death.

This is a film for intellectual. Though it is not for the mass, it may not do good business. However it is worth watching.
