Rating: 2.5/5

RA.ONE is a Hindi feature film which released on 26th October, 2011. It was most awaited film of Shah Rukh Khan because it was highly promoted and was told to be most expensive film ever made in Hindi/Indian film industry. This film has been distributed by Eros International Ltd. and Red Chillies Entertainment and its producer is Gauri Khan.

Story : Shekhar Subramaniam (Shah Rukh Khan) is a game designer and his son Prateik (Armaan Verma) is a school student. Shekhar loves his son too much and wants to be a superhero for him but his son feels that villains are far better than superheroes. Hence, to please his son, Shekhar creates a villain RA.ONE. Twist comes into the story when the character of the video game enters into their life in reality. To fight the villain Ra.One superhero enters into the scene whose name is G.One played by Shah Rukh Khan. On one hand Ra.One (played by Arjun Rampal) is a menace to the society especially to the family of Shekhar and on the other hand G.One is there to protect all from Ra.One.

As usual superhero wins every time and finishes the villain.

Performance : Shah Rukh Khan acts well in two roles. One role is of timid Shekhar and another is of the superhero. Karina Kapoor is okay and better than her previous films.

Arjun Rampal is good.

Rajnikanth is excellent in his short role.

Satish Shah, Sahana Goswami, Dalip Tahil etc. are okay in their roles.

Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra are good in their special appearances.

Script : Script is mostly similar to many previous films based on superheroes. However there are many loopholes in the script. It is boring and less convincing at many places. Dialogues are vulgar at a few places which would prevent family to watch this film.

Music : Music is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and only Chhamak Chhalo is impressive. This song tops the music chart in the market and can be played several times. Dildara is average. Rest songs are below average and appear to be noise.

Choreography : The songs are choreographed in well manner. You would like to watch the noisy songs visually but would hardly like to listen to them (except Chhamak Chhalo & Dildara).

Action : Action is plus point of the film. It is excellent but you don't get satisfaction and would expect more action.

Direction : Anubhav Sinha has directed this film and his work is average. The technicians behind the graphics need to be appreciated for their excellent work. The director fails to keep you hooked throughout the film. His does excellent work in some scenes and fails to keep the same effect in other scenes.

Plus Points : Some of the action scenes are plus point of this film. Graphics and special effects used in this film are also plus points because they are excellent. They are executed by experts in this field of foreign countries and are worth watching. Presence of Rajnikant is also another plus point of this film who just appears for a short period but makes you clap for his presence. Amitabh Bachchan has lended his powerful voice so that is another plus point of this film.

Minus Point : Script and direction are the minus points of the film. The film is too lengthy and boring at many places. Entry of G.One is just before the interval which is minus point.

Conclusion : This is the most expensive film of Indian film industry till date (budget more than 150 crores) so people are curious to watch it. Secondly it was promoted like no film was ever promoted before so it is likely to attract huge audience in he beginning. Also due to its release on Diwali it would get the advantage of box office openings.

Verdict : It's not a bad film but it is not what you were expecting from Shah Rukh Khan's most awaited film. No problem in watching it once! Due to its excellent graphics its worth watching!
