Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns Review

By Friday Release Team - Nov 30, -0001 05:53 AM

Rating: 2.5/5

One Line Review: The movie has everything but no heart and is a letdown compared to the first part.

Positive Points: Surprising climax; Brilliant Directions; Apt Dialogues; Outstanding performances by whole cast and display of real locations

Negative Points: Lenthy scenes; too many elements, characters and twists but no message or moral

Plot: The sequel of 2011 movie 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster' continues from where it left. The movie is again an action gangster drama set in political backdrop. Aditya Pratap Singh (Jimmy Shergill) is trying to recover from his physical disability still is impactful enough that every one listens to his orders. Madhavi Devi (Mahie Gill), his wife is an MLA now but is totally sunk in alcohol and behaves insane. Their relationship again fall in danger as Aditya Pratap Singh decides to marry Sanjana (Soha Ali Khan) the daughter of one of the Kings of 5 principle kings Mani(Raj Babbar) with a strong political hold. But Sanjana is madly in love with Indrajeet Singh (Irfan Khan), a prince who has lost everything due to the ancestral rivalry with Aditya Pratap's family, who are the cause of his family's debacle. Indrajeet can go to any limits to take revenge from Aditya. With this, starts the war of political rivalries, power, money and strategies. In this game of life and death, the survivor will take it all.

Direction and Other technical Aspects: Direction by Veteran Director Tigmanshu Dhulia is up to the mark; a few scenes though cold have been played fast for making the script tight; it is just an action- thriller with no heart.

Performances: Each has given his best effort. Jimmy Shergill previously gave a rocking performance in 'Special 26' and this time too he has come through. He makes his recovery stage look natural. Mahie seems natural. Irfan leaves a strong impact on mind. Soha Ali khan and Raj Babbar have played their part to the par.

Final Verdict: It won't make a difference if not watched, only catch it if idle.
