SHUTTLECOCK BOYS is a Hindi feature film which released on 3rd August, 2012. It has been directed by Hemant Gaba (debutant) and falls in the category of mixed genres. Is it worth watching? Read the review below.

Story : It is the story of four young boys who live in Delhi. The four young boys are Gaurav (Vijay Prateek), Manav (Aakar Kaushik), Pankaj (Alok Kumar) and Loveleen (Manish Nanwani). They appear to be loser but they also appear to be quite different from each other. Their temperaments as well backgrounds are different but there is bonding between them due to a game-badminton. Every evening they meet over this game.

One of the four friends Manav is a cook at a restaurant. He gets shocked when he comes to know that his restaurant would shut down soon. He doesn't know what to do. Not only he but his friend Gaurav is insulted for selling credit cards and at the same time Pankaj feels that he is not born to become a CA.

These changes in their life/career inspire or compel Gaurav to come up with a new idea to start their own business instead of depending on others. Thus they start their own catering business.

Well, do they succeed in their business? What turns take in their life? How is the game-badminton related with their life and career? All such queries are answered in the remaining part of the film.

Acting : All the lead actors have performed very well. It doesn't seem that you are watching newcomers. They have done their best and justified their roles to full extent. The bonding and chemistry between all friends is superb.

Script : The story is good and about the struggle of some young boys in different way. Its screenplay is also engaging and makes you smile at many places. Dialogues are also good.

Direction : The director Hemant Gaba is also the writer of it and has done a good job. Not only he has focused on angles and takings but he has concentrated on the script and content of the film which make his characters appear real and genuine. He has also attempted to make you smile through some scenes and he has succeeded in his effort. The direction has consistency and runs smoothly.

Minus Points : Low Budget; New Comers; Lack of Promotions;

Plus Points : Content of the movie; Direction; Excellent Performance by the newcomers

Conclusion : Though this film comprises newcomers, it may not attract audience initially. But they have performed very well. So in the long run they are going to gain benefits. Same may be the case with the film. It may not attract audience initially but it would get audience on satellite channels due to mouth publicity and it would also have repeat value. However, it may fail to generate revenues through theatres due to lack of promotions and limited release. Also film 'JISM 2' released with this film so its business would be affected by it to great extent.

Verdict : A good film! It is worth watching once!
