Striker is a serious movie produced and directed by Chandan Arora who earlier directed films like \'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon\'   \'Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh\'. His earlier two films didn\'t do well due to many drawbacks of the films.

Similarly this film is not going to make lots of money because this film is not capable of doing great business or pulling masses to the theatres. Although this film is not a bad film, it is neither meant for children nor for family.

Though the director has roped casts as Siddharth, Aditya Pancholi, Ankur Vikal , Sima Biswas, Anupam Kher etc., this film isn\'t so impressing.

Anupam Kher is a great actor but he is wasted in this film. His has nothing to do which is worth mentioning. Anupam Kher should choose good roles at this stage.

The story of Striker is about a boy Ankur, who is expert in playing carom. His financial condition is not good so he covets to go to Dubai to earn lots of money. How does he reach Dubai; what he has to pay for it makes the story.

The story is centered on Malvani, a Mumbai suburb and it tells much about communal riots burst in 1992 rather than talking about the main theme.

Siddarth plays the role of Surya who grows up with poor health and due to this he is unable to attend his school regularly. Or you can say that Surya finds excuses to remain at home. The reason behind his remaining at home is carom. Once, his elder brother is beaten by local goon, Jaleel (Adutya Pancholi) due to a defeat in carom. Due to this, his elder brother Chandrakant teaches him to play carom and very soon Surya becomes expert in playing carom which makes the rest of the film. Surya becomes champion in carom. Hereafter this film becomes the story of a carom champion who grows up on the fringes of a criminal existence but does not succumb to it.

Surya wants to go to Dubai to earn huge money but due to a fraud agent he looses all his hard earned money. Eventually, he is compelled to come in contact with the goon Jaleel. But Jaleel brings misfortune to him. What happens later is the rest of the film.

Though the director has tried to portray a good film, he has failed. He has portrayed some brutal scenes which are not good for family or children.

In the end you get to see that Surya's cool and patient nature win the battle with Jaleel who is very aggressive.

Anupam Kher has peformed very well but he has nothing to do. Siddharth is excellent in his role and has justified his role. Ankur Vikal too is good as his earlier film Slum Dog Millionaire. Anoop Soni as Chandrakant is excellent and so is Aditya Pancholi. He has played his role very well.

Though the story is good its screenplay is very faulty. The story meaninglessly keeps drifting from this plot to that plot. The director has no control over the film. He keeps you unanswered over so many matters. You wait to find their solutions till the end but you have to leave your seat without any answer.

Music is average. Cinematography is also good. But the director has not given any scope to the editor to do his work.

The choice of story by the director Chandan arora is good but the screenplay has many loopholes. The film should have focused on carom game but it drifted into many sub plots which were not necessary.

There is nothing wrong if you watch this movie in your spare time or if you have nothing to do.
