Buzz is that CBFC may give an 'A' certificate if an Item number content is not found within the limits. This is to ensure that the women are not objectified on screen.

This will mean that no Television promo of such songs and thus, no marketing. CBFC decided to give Priyanka Chopra 's item song 'Babli Badmaash' of ' Shootout At Wadala ' an 'A' certificate, said Tanuj Garg of Balaji Motion Picture. Though there is not a Blanket Directive, the songs would be certified according to their content. The film And Television Producers Guild wrote to Information and broadcasting ministry that if such numbers will be held back, all pre-release marketing plans will go down the drain, they said.

The board however denies about taking such a decision. CBFC chairperson Leela Samson said that no such decision has been taken, either by the board or ministry, nor it is in plans. The guidelines only state that films or trailers or any other part of the movie will be certified depending on the age group that they are suitable for. Dance numbers will be continued to be examined on a case to case basis, too.
