India won the first Cricket World Cup title on June 25, 1983, which is before thirty-one years ago. The captain Kapil Dev holding the trophy high at the Lord's balcony is the image carved in the collective memory of India. This landmark achievement will now be enlivened in the form of a movie on the silver screen, so that today's youth can witness the dominance of India in the present world of cricket.

The Founder of Celebrity Cricket League, Vishnu Vardhan Induri will be producing this flick. Induri said that it's strange that even after three decades of historic victory, no single movie has been made to click the iconic moment. This win of India turned cricket into a religion in the country. He further stated that he feels requirement of narrating this story again. The film is expected to be directed by National-award winner director Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan of ' Lahore ' fame. Induri added that they are keeping in touch with members of 1983 team and a great support can be expected from them. In the first quarter of 2015, the project is anticipated to start rolling, as revealed by Induri.

Kapil Dev expressed his views on this by saying that "Like most of my teammates, I am glad that a film is being made on our journey during the 1983 World Cup. It's heartening to see the trend of movies being made on sports, which I am sure will inspire the youth,"
