We all know that PC is extensively investing in regional films. After producing movies in Bhojpuri, Marathi and Punjabi languages, Priyanka’s production house is currently bankrolling a Bengali film on Noble Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and his tutor Annapurna Atmaram’s life. Titled Nalini, the film went on floors a few months back. The story of the film revolves around the alleged love affair between Rabindranath Tagore and Annapurna Atmaram.

The controversial nature of the film has reportedly not got down well with the members of the Visva Bharati University, Kolkata. They have threatened the makers to take legal route if two kissing scenes featuring Rabindranath Tagore and Annapurna Atmaram are not chopped off from the film. In a conversation with a tabloid, Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra said, “We are in talks with Tagore's family members to make the material as authentic as possible. I hope we can retain the scenes. They are factually correct. Ujjwal has been thorough with his research. Unless the censors delete them, we would want to retain them.”

We just hope things get sorted out soon and the film releases without any controversy.
