The director of the movie ‘Adipurush’, Om Raut, replies to complaints that the movie isn't accurate by saying that it's impossible to fully understand the Ramayana and pointing out that the movie did well at the box office. Even though critics and audiences gave the movie mixed reviews and it made more than 200 crores around the world in just two days, there were concerns about the visual effects, the costumes, and the way mythological figures were portrayed.

In an interview on TV, Raut said that he was happy with how enthusiastic the crowd was. He gave the example of people chanting "Jai Shri Ram" during screenings. He said that it would be a mistake to consider that we can fully understand the Ramayana, calling it a huge and complicated tale. Raut also said that the movie is mostly about the Yuddha Kanda chapter of the Ramayana and that his portrayal is based on what he knows and how he understands it.
Also, actor Arun Govil, who is known for playing Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar's ‘Ramayana’ on TV series, said he didn't like ‘Adipurush’ and hadn't seen the movie yet, but he told the makers what he thought after the teaser came out.
