On August 17, filmmaker S Shankar Shanmugam reached the milestone of turning 60, drawing an outpouring of well-wishes on social media for the acclaimed director of ‘Anniyan’. To mark this special occasion, Shankar hosted an extravagant gathering in Chennai, graced by luminaries from the South film industry. Notable figures like Ram Charan from ‘Game Changer’, Chiyaan Vikram, and esteemed directors Lokesh Kanagaraj and Vetrimaaran were captured in candid moments during the event.

A candid snapshot from Shankar's birthday celebration quickly went viral across social media platforms. The image captured a perfect blend of talent as Ram Charan and Vikram joined forces with Tamil industry stalwarts Lokesh Kanagaraj, SJ Suriyah, Vignesh Shivan, Gopichand Malineni, Karthik Subbaraj, and Gautham Menon, encapsulating the vibrant spirit of the industry.

Composer Thaman, who contributed to ‘Game Changer’, was also present at the celebration and shared a delightful snapshot featuring Shankar and Ram Charan. He captioned the post, "Tat was a crazy evening with the #GameChanger team.”

Adding to the festivities, the creators of ‘Indian 2’ orchestrated a birthday bash in honor of Shankar. Lyca Productions unveiled glimpses of the celebration through captivating snapshots and an exclusive behind-the-scenes video. ‘Indian 2’, a sequel to the iconic 1996 film starring Kamal Haasan, was officially announced in 2017. The production journey commenced in 2019, encompassing shooting locations such as Chennai and Bhopal.

However, the film's progress came to an abrupt halt in February 2020 due to a tragic crane accident on set, leading to the unfortunate loss of crew members and injuries to several others. Nevertheless, the production regained momentum in August 2022, venturing into foreign locales including Japan and South Africa for filming.

Despite the exhilarating progress, the film's release date is still under wraps, creating anticipation among eager audiences.
