Virat Kohli made history in the World Cup semifinal match between India and New Zealand by becoming the only batter in cricket history to record fifty ODI hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar's previous record of 49 was broken by him.

His cumulative century total across all three forms now stands at 80. Several South celebs quickly flocked to social media to express their delight and congratulate the player on his record-breaking achievement.

SS Rajamouli posted on Twitter, “Records are meant to be broken, but no one in their wildest dreams dreamt of breaking Sachin’s record when he announced his retirement; and the KING emerged; Kohli”

Jr NTR Congratulates King Kohli:

Jr. NTR also took to his X account and posted a photo of the ace cricketer with the caption: “49 ODI centuries. An unbreakable record. Broken by an Indian. In India. In a World Cup Semifinal. Doesn’t get better than this. Congratulations Kohli. You deserve 50 standing ovations and more.”

Varun Tej, who travelled to Dehradun for his second wedding celebration earlier today, uploaded a video on his Instagram account of the match being displayed on a giant screen, with the guests watching it together. Actor Venkatesh Daggubati, a cricket fan, witnessed the record-breaking achievement live at the Wankhede Stadium and rushed to social media to express his congrats.
