Tamil cinema enthusiasts have reason to rejoice as Jason Sanjay, the 23-year-old son of Thalapathy Vijay, is set to make his directorial debut in collaboration with the esteemed production company Lyca Productions, helmed by producer Subaskaran.

The news was officially confirmed by Subaskaran himself, who issued a statement to the media expressing his enthusiasm for the project. “Lyca Productions has always strived with utmost faith on young and fresh minds, who we believe, are the game changers of any film industry. We are happy to announce that Mr. Jason Sanjay Vijay will direct our next project, which has a unique story premise and an engrossing experience. In response to this exciting opportunity, Sanjay shared his own excitement about forging his own path in the film industry. For those unfamiliar with his background, Jason Sanjay pursued his education at the American International School in Chennai before obtaining a Film Production Diploma from the Toronto Film School. He further honed his skills with a BA (Hons) in Screenwriting from London.

In contrast, Thalapathy Vijay, an outsider to the Tamil film industry, gained prominence with his debut in ‘Naalaiya Theerpu’ (1992), at the young age of 18. Over the years, he has become one of the most beloved stars in the industry. Married to Sangeeta Somalingam since 1999, the superstar is a proud father to son Jason Sanjay and daughter Divya Shasha, who is now 18.
