Karthik Subbaraj has swiftly established himself as one of the most recognised names in Tamil cinema, having directed films such as 'Mahaan', 'Petta', 'Pizza', and many others. ‘Jigarthanda’, a dark action comedy starring Bobby Simha, Siddharth, and Guru Somasundaram that was released in 2014, was a huge hit, getting accolades from fans and reviewers alike.
The director is currently preparing to make ‘Jigarthanda Double X’, a solo sequel to the 2014 picture. The film, which stars Raghava Lawrence and SJ Suryah, was announced in August of last year, with the first look poster released in December of the same year. The film's runtime and release date have been announced in the most recent update.
The CBFC has seen the film and has advised 44 seconds worth of replacements and 12 seconds worth of deletions. The adjustments would reduce the film's runtime to 2 hours and 52 minutes, or 172 minutes. The film's producers also just confirmed via social media that the film would be released on November 10th. The news was made on October 29th, Raghava Lawrence's 47th birthday.

‘Jigarthanda Double X’ is a highly awaited Tamil-language film that fits within the period action and comedy genres. Kaarthekeyen Santhanam, S. Kathiresan, and Alankar Pandian are producing the film through Stone Bench Films, Five Star Creations, and Invenio Origin.

Karthik Subbaraj's longtime partner, Santhosh Narayanan, who also collaborated on the prequel film, wrote the soundtrack for the film. S. Thirunavukkarasu is in charge of the camera, and Shafique Mohamed Ali is in charge of the editing. The film's creators have described it as a Pandian western, which piques the interest of fans and cinephiles everywhere.
