The much-anticipated Telugu film 'Kushi,' featuring a star-studded cast including Vijay Deverakonda, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Sachin Khedekar, Saranya Ponvannan, and Murali Sharma, has made its global debut today.
Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala acknowledged the significance of 'Kushi' in light of their recent setbacks, stating, "While both have a strong filmography, this film does carry weight after their respective flops." However, another trade analyst, Deepak, based in Hyderabad, emphasized that an actor's past film outcomes no longer hold the same weight.
He emphasized that modern audiences focus more on the film's content, packaging, and overall appeal rather than an actor's track record. Vijay Deverakonda candidly addressed the lackluster performance of his recent projects, attributing the issues to execution rather than script selection.
In an interview, Vijay explained, "I genuinely believe each script I've chosen was fantastic. The problem lay in the execution. Just like an inside joke among friends falls flat if not delivered well to others, the timing and delivery went awry in films like 'Liger,' 'NOTA,' and 'Dear Comrade.'"
'Kushi' holds significance not only for its cast but also as the first collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Speaking about his experience working with Samantha, Vijay commended her intelligence and contributions during discussions about the movie. He highlighted their shared middle-class backgrounds, similar perspectives on money and life, and mutual passion for history.
