The South celebrity has been charged with defrauding money from a producer after delivering back-to-back blockbusters. It appears that Ajith had requested to adapt that sum to his pay for a movie he would make for Manickam. According to him, neither the movie was made nor the producer received his money back.

Tamil producer Manickam Narayanan accused Ajith Kumar of cheating and fraud in an interview. Manickam made startling accusations against him, claiming, "Ajith took money from me many years ago since he intended to send his parents on a vacation to Malaysia. Then, he promised me that he would make a movie for me, and we could change the price according to his wage. He hasn't yet given the money back or made a movie for me, though. In all of these years, he has never mentioned this at all. He claims to be a gentleman, but he isn't.”
