For the first time, actor Vikram has provided clarification over his recent hospitalization, which he said was caused by minor chest discomfort. At the audio premiere of his next Tamil film Cobra on Monday night, Vikram stated he did not experience a heart arrest. He continued by saying that some media outlets and users of social media platforms had overstated his state of health.

The Mahaan actor said, "There was a mild chest discomfort. I went to the hospital only for that. But it was blown out of proportion. I am doing well... When all of you are there with me nothing will happen to me. My family, friends, fans and you are there for me."

Speaking about the false news that was going around, the 56-year-old actor said, "I should not place my hand on my chest. They (the media) may come up with a claim that I am having a heart attack. I can visualize the headline they may pick for tomorrow's edition. They may say that what they had predicted was confirmed by Vikram. They may say that Vikram gestured that he had a heart attack while he was on the dais for Cobra audio launch."

Vikram will be seen in the film Cobra which is slated to release on August 11. Helmed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, the film also stars Srinidhi Shetty, Miya George, and Roshan Mathew in pivotal roles. Apart from Cobra, the actor will feature in Ponniyin Selvan: I alongside Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, and Prakash Raj.
