When Anushka Shetty opened up about casting couch in the Telugu film industry
Casting couch does exist in the film industry, and several actresses have openly discussed it. Many actresses have to go through that in order to survive and get work in show business. Anushka Shetty, a Telugu actress, has also stated that it occurs, but she has never been used.
During the promotion of her 2020 film, Nishabdham, Baahubali actress revealed that the casting couch does exist in the industry, but she has never had to face it due to her forthright attitude.
“I admit that it exists in the Telugu film industry but I never had to face it because I was straight forward, I was never exploited (sic),” the actress was quoted by Telugu Filmnagar.
“I have always been straightforward and frank. The actress should decide whether they want the easy ways and less fame or harder ways and sustain for a long time in the entertainment industry," she added.
Samantha also discussed the casting couch controversy in a previous interview with Deccan Chronicle. "Not only in movies, but in every industry," she explained. “I can't comment on everyone's virtues or traits. There will be a few bad apples. However, I have spent the last eight years working in the Tamil and Telugu industries. My first picture was a success, and I didn't have much trouble.”
