Ashish Dixit reveals why he was sceptical about signing Parineeti

Colors’ latest show Parineeti has been received well by the audience. It is expected to perform even better as the story progresses in weeks to come. Produced by content queen Ekta Kapoor, Parineeti narrates the story of two best friends who get married to the same guy.
The show stars Anchal Sahu, Tanvi Dogra, and Arun Verma in lead roles, but actor Ashish Dixit also plays an important role in it.
Talking to a publication, Dixit says that initially he was sceptical about signing the show on the dotted line as not every production house does justice to parallel leads.
“To be honest, I was a bit sceptical while taking up the show as I wanted to only act in films and I do have a few projects lined up as well. I felt it wouldn't be feasible to take up a daily soap while my goal is to venture into the big screen. While I had these thoughts, I opted to give the look test and got through. I was told that Altamash Faraz was cast for the role and before him, there is a long list of actors who got rejected for the role but luckily, I was selected for the same,” he said.
The actor went on to add, “What really changed my mind was the brief that Vikram is the parallel lead in the show and will have prominence. I don’t feel other producers justify ‘parallel leads’ but Ekta Ma’am and Balaji do. You see any show of the production house, they do justice to all the actors and I was certain with the trust I have in Ekta Kapoor and Balaji that they’ll not disappoint me.”
