The Mumbai Police Department acknowledges the filing of a complaint against Uorfi Javed and four others:

The Mumbai Police Department recently posted a viral video on their official Instagram account in which Uorfi Javed gets detained by two female police officials for wearing indecent clothing in public.

In addition to the video, the department published an official statement confirming that the actress-influencer's viral video was, in fact, a hoax. The statement also revealed that Uorfi and others in the video had been charged with defaming the police agency.

Mumbai Police's Instagram post reads, “One Can’t Violate Law Of The Land, For Cheap Publicity! A viral video of a woman being allegedly arrested by Mumbai Police, in a case of obscenity is not true - insignia & uniform have been misused,"

"However, a criminal case has been registered against those involved in the misleading video, at Oshiwara Pstn under sections 171, 419, 500, 34 IPC. While further investigation is on, the fake inspector is under arrest & the vehicle has been seized too. #RealityCheck," the statement further reads.

About Uorfi Javed’s Fake Arrest Video:

Two female police officers were observed approaching Uorfi Javed, who was standing in front of a café. The Bigg Boss OTT 1 contestant was notified by authorities that she was being arrested for wearing highly exposed clothing in public.

Despite her attempts to protect herself, Uorfi finally obeyed the 'cops' orders. However, people questioned if the films were entirely fabricated because the female officers were not dressed in uniform and arrived in a regular automobile rather than a police vehicle.
