Priya Ahuja Rajda, better known as Rita from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has joined the cast of the most popular show, Star Plus' 'Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin'. The actress has been looking for a suitable role to play for quite some time, and it appears that she has finally found one.

Priya, surprisingly, has been cast in the part of Harshad, aka Satya Adhikari's sister. She will be a lavani dancer and will play the role of Maddy. Priya appeared on and off in TMKOC, and she is now returning to TV in a full-fledged role four years after giving birth to her son, Ardaas. The actress is overjoyed to have landed the part. She took to her Instagram and shared a post as she filmed for the show and reminded her fans to watch her on the show.

In an interview, the actress spoke about her role on the show, “I've never played Lavani before, but I'm excited for the opportunity. Let's see how things proceed. I am still working four years after giving birth. Of course, I was doing Taarak Mehta, but this is like returning to a regular daily soap and filming nonstop. More than I, my spouse Malav is overjoyed.”

Priya Ahuja Rajda, who gained to prominence alongside Taarak Mehta in the character of Rita Reporter, took a maternity leave from the famous sitcom while expecting her first child. The actress returned to the show later that year, during the lockdown.
