Jailer Actor G Marimuthu Passes Away At The Age Of 57 Due To Cardiac Arrest!

Marimuthu succumbed to a heart attack, leaving the Tamil film industry in mourning. Ramesh Bala, a film trade analyst and industry insider, confirmed this sad news on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, revealing that G Marimuthu was 57 years old. He was well-known for his role in the Tamil television series ‘Ethirneechal’ and had previously worked as an assistant director with acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam, among others.

The unfortunate incident occurred around 8.30 am on Friday morning when G Marimuthu was dubbing for his TV serial ‘Ethirneechal’ in Chennai. He collapsed suddenly and was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital. However, despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead. Johnson, a public relations professional in the South film industry, conveyed this information via a tweet.

G Marimuthu had an extensive career in the film industry, having participated in over 50 movies, aside from his roles as a director and actor in television shows, as reported by One India. His journey in the world of cinema began in 1990 when he left his hometown of Pasumalaitheri in Theni to pursue his dream of becoming a film director.
Initially, he worked as a waiter in hotels, but fate led him to lyricist Vairamuthu, opening doors to his career in the film industry. Eventually, he secured a position as an assistant director, collaborating with Rajkiran on films like ‘Aranmanai Kili’ (1993) and ‘Ellame En Rasathan’ (1995), according to reports. Marimuthu continued his career as an assistant director, working alongside renowned filmmakers such as Mani Ratnam, Vasanth, Seeman, and SJ Surya. He also served as a co-director for Silambarasan's ‘Manmadhan’.
